The Velez family of Bogota, Colombia, think they are forever doomed to take public transportation. But when their neighbors win a brand new car in a raffle, the family is presented with an opportunity to buy the neighbors’ old one: a bright red ’50s Chevrolet convertible. This “winning and consistently funny comedy” (Variety), narrated by adolescent daughter Paola (the brains of the clan), shows how the car quickly becomes an integral part of their lives and conveys them through several years of life’s small dramas.
